World Cities Invited to Outgames 2009 to Promote Gay Tolerance, Diversity
Eleven cities from around the world have been invited by the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen to participate in an exhibition promoting urban diversity and tolerance during the World Outgames in 2009. The World Outgames is an international sporting, cultural and human rights event organised to celebrate and recognize the roles of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in society.

From the outset, Copenhagen has enjoyed strong local support, with the City Council granting the 2nd World Outgames significant financial funding on top of giving the Outgames the use of all sport facilities for free.
